Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling den wagering is illegal. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty table games. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the common tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international vacation and hotel compound that contains many comforts in addition to the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
